Notice of a New Publication for Clinical Engineering

A new publication has been released for all Clinical Engineering Practitioners. The publication Human Bio-Systems for Clinical Engineering Practitioners is written as a reference source for all persons in the field of Clinical Engineering. The publication satisfies the requirements of the South African National Electrical Engineering Diploma (Clinical Engineering option) subject “Bio-Systems 1” and will also prove useful for other professionals serving in the auxiliary medical services.

Members Meeting Notice for Thursday, 3 September 2009 at Addington Hospital

Tecmed will be sponsoring a Members’ Meeting to be held on Thursday 3 September 2009 at 17h00, in the new Oncology Department at Addington Hospital. The speakers will be from Tecmed whom will be providing an overview of the new oncology department layout and the role of various technologies within this. The Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) recently met in Johannesburg to discuss registration of candidates for the new National Certificate: Medical Equipment Maintenance. An MEM Registration Committee is to be set up to handle all expected future applications under this category. It is certain that some of your CEASA Council and other members will form part of this new Registration Committee.
